On Launch Lite, yes: it requires any ongoing plan, Keep Up or Level Up, for 12 months. That is what makes the $999 entry price work. On every other build it is not mandatory. It is the default, and we strongly recommend it. A live website needs hosting, an SSL certificate, security patching and someone watching it, so every build starts on a Keep Up plan the day it launches. You can decline it or cancel later and take over hosting and upkeep yourself, and the site is yours either way. Stargazer Lite stays free for as long as you are on an active plan.
Hosting, domain, security, performance monitoring, support, text and photo updates on request, and the software that ships with your site, project gallery and review widgets. From $99/mo, scaling with the size of the site. Cancel whenever you like. Ongoing on-site SEO with unlimited design and content updates is on Keep Up Standard, and off-site SEO work is on Level Up.
Yes, from day one, exportable any time, source files included. That applies to every plan. Sites are paid in full, so there is nothing to pay off and nothing held back.
The website itself is paid in full, so there is no financed route and nothing to pay off. If the upfront cost is the obstacle, new and small businesses can apply for the starter discount, which takes $500 off the build. The ongoing plan is monthly and cancel-anytime.

Every ongoing plan is cancel-anytime. The site is already yours, so cancelling means you keep it and take over hosting and upkeep yourself, or move down to Keep Up Essential and keep us running the basics.
We build from scratch rather than working on an existing site. Anything you like from your current site can come with you: your logo, photos, and copy. We also walk you through moving your domain over to us, and in most cases we can handle that part for you.
